1. How do I turn the robot on and off properly?
To turn the robot on, press the power button once and wait to see the lights activate. To turn it off, hold the button down for 3 seconds until it powers down.
2. How do I charge the robot?
Plug the charging socket on the back of the robot. If using the charging dock, ensure the charging plates are aligned between robot and dock. Check the battery indicator showing charging progress.
3. What do I do if the robot doesn't charge?
Check the charging dock for any obstructions, verify the power supply is active and its LED is lit, and inspect the robot’s charging contacts for debris or damage.
4. How long would the robot’s battery last?
According to the manufacturer, this would depend on usage and performance. For a single full charge daily, the battery would last for 10 years before replacing it with a new one.
5. How can I increase the robot’s battery life?
Enable Power-Save mode from the Control Panel. All future version of Omegabot’s products will accommodate this feature.
6. What does the Power-Save mode do to the robot?
Power-Save mode lowers screen and LED brightness, reduces navigation speed, smooths the robot’s navigation behaviour, and reduces the volume of the speakers.
7. How do I clean the robot?
Wipe down the robot with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or spraying water directly onto the robot’s components like its display and sensors.
8. What kind of maintenance is required for the robot’s sensors?
Cleaning only. Clean the sensors weekly using a soft, dry cloth to remove dust, spills, or fingerprints that may affect the robot’s overall performance.
9. What should I do if the robot gets physically stuck?
First press the safety button and move the robot as needed. Then, safely remove any obstacles from its path, and ensure the wheels are free of debris that could affect mobility. Release the safety button.
10. What should I do if the robot is lost or unresponsive?
Follow the rescue operation procedure: physically locate, safely immobilise, power off, and move the robot back to its docking station. There, power the robot back on and use it as normal.
